FAQs

Do you have an ROI calculator so I can measure what I'll get out of attending?

Yes! The ROI calculator is included in this “Make Your Case to Attend” template (it will automatically download when you click the link). Customize it to convince your employer to invest in your attendance and professional development.

What topics will be on the education program?

On both days of the conference, the general and breakout sessions will include what you’ve always loved about the Marketing Strategy Conference and ROC: speakers and sessions that dig into the most pressing and important issues facing marketing and revenue optimization in hotels.

Additionally, there will be more sessions of interest to sales and distribution leaders — who round out the commercial ecosystem.

See details about the Education Sessions that the planning team is preparing for you.

What will it cost to attend (compared to last year)?

Only 3-5% more than 2023 registration fees. The cost to attend was slightly increased (by $25-$50 depending on the category) to offset some of the rising costs we’re all seeing, especially on the F&B front.

All of the details are on the registration page.

What’s the difference between Day 1 and Day 2 of the conference?

The Commercial Strategy Conference will be on June 25-26, 2024 (with pre- and post-conference workshops and roundtables that you can add to your agenda).

There really won’t be much difference between the two days. On each day you’ll have access to networking, the partner showcase, and lots of education sessions that delve into the most pressing and important issues facing hotel marketing, revenue optimization, and sales professionals.

See the week-at-a-glance for the big picture details.

What happened to ROC and the Marketing Strategy Conference?

After 20 years of being the industry’s must-attend events for revenue optimization and marketing leaders, it is time to evolve and reflect the realities of the industry: marketing and revenue optimization don’t work in siloes, and HSMAI’s conferences shouldn’t be in them either.

With LOTS of input from key stakeholders — from past attendees and sponsors to advisory boards and Americas board members — the consensus is that it is time to evolve ROC and the Marketing Strategy Conference and launch the Commercial Strategy Conference.

I wanted to attend ROC (or the Marketing Strategy Conference), so which day would you recommend I attend in 2024?

Both days! You’ll get the most out of your time and resources participating on both days. In 2023, more than 80% of attendees actually did just that, and we expect most people to opt into the whole experience.

If you HAVE to pick one day or another and the content is your deciding factor, check the agenda online.

Will you still offer the certification review courses?

Yes! The CRME and CHDM Review Courses are a terrific way to finish preparing to take your certification exam.

As usual, they will be on Monday…from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. A separate fee applies ($149 – $249 depending on your membership status and when you register).

More details are available here.

What role can partners play in the conference?

The conference would not be possible without the generous sponsorship of industry partners. There are opportunities to be part of the Partner Showcase at varying levels of support, and additional ways to enhance your company’s visibility to the commercial strategy professionals — from marketing, revenue optimization, and sales — who will be in Charlotte.  Learn more, or reach out to Mark Primuth, HSMAI’s Partnership Manager.

Where exactly is the conference taking place?

HSMAI’s Commercial Strategy Conference will be at the Charlotte Convention Center located at 501 S. College Street in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
